Obsessive Compulsive Disorder {OCD}
Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition where a person experiences unwanted thoughts, images, or urges (called obsessions) that create anxiety, and feels the need to perform certain actions or rituals (called compulsions) to reduce that anxiety.
What It Can Look Like
Repeated, unwanted thoughts (about contamination, harm, order, or doubts)
Strong urge to perform rituals (washing, checking, counting, arranging, repeating words)
Anxiety or distress if routines are not completed
Spending excessive time on thoughts or rituals
Difficulty focusing on daily activities because of obsessions/compulsions
Feeling temporarily relieved after rituals, but anxiety soon returns
